PLANNING
When Rocío and I first started researching our route through Peru we thought 3 weeks was going to be plenty of time to checkout everything we wanted to see. That’s where we were wrong. Peru is a lot bigger than we anticipated, and with its topography, it makes getting places complex. And whether you call Peru a third world country or a developing one, you will most likely encounter some obstacles to overcome, be it transportation workers on strike, road closures, or misinformation. An up and coming beach town with a desert, beaches, and esplanade lined with seafood restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a pisco sour while watching the sunset over the Pacific.
Arequipa was our first glimpse at the Spanish colonial style we were expecting in Peru. The architecture combined with the surrounding volcanoes makes for an amazing backdrop to a
This experience actually requires you to go out onto the lake to the floating islands to stay with the locals and eat fresh fish from the day’s catch.
This is where the Inca history started. With rich history, beautiful architecture, and a language not yet forgotten, this was our favourite city in Peru.
Check out this day trip from Cusco, where you can experience the Andes Mountains in their most colorful form.
MACHU PICCHU
Last, but not least, actually the most, the breathtaking wonder of the world: Machu Picchu.
